To support our exponential growth, we are looking for a Freelance Technical Writer (m/f/d) to support us for a limited period.

Tasks

What you'll do

Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation for ng-voice’s IMS solutions
Enable telco operators, system integrators, developers, and operations engineers to understand, deploy, and manage our products effectively
Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and support teams
Ensure all technical content is accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with customer needs

Requirements

Our ideal new colleague

3–5 years of experience writing for telecom or networking products (e.g., IMS, VoLTE, SIP)
Strong portfolio demonstrating user guides, API references, installation guides, and release notes
Comfortable reading YAML/JSON, basic Bash, and Kubernetes manifests
Ability to analyze call traces and Wireshark captures to inform documentation
Skilled at interviewing engineers (e.g., SWA team) and turning raw notes into clear, polished technical documents
Responsible for maintaining and enforcing a documentation style guide, version control, and managing the doc ticket backlog
Excellent at prioritizing tasks, asking sharp questions, and delivering concise, plain-English summaries

Nice to Have:

Hands-on familiarity with Lawful Intercept (X1/X2/X3 interfaces) and OCS/CHF charging flows
Advocate for Docs-as-Code practices and tooling
Ability to create light diagrams using PlantUML or Mermaid, and produce screen-cast tutorials
Experience organizing and running short documentation sprints with engineering teams
Knowledge of setting up and using doc analytics (e.g., page views, search queries)
Familiarity with telecom standards such as 3GPP, ETSI, and GSMA
