Position overview:

We are seeking a highly-talented, dynamic Head of Finance / Finance Director (m/f/d) to join our executive team as the first senior hire in the finance area. The position will play a critical role in building the finance department and thus be a crucial building block for our future success.

The role is based in Hamburg, Germany.

Tasks

What you’ll do:

Oversee finance operations, for example accounting & tax, financial reporting and treasury.
Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth and objectives.
Lead financial planning processes and provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team.
Manage relationships with investors, auditors, banks, and other financial institutions as well as other external service providers.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
Oversee risk management and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks.
Build, lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Build strong relationships and maintain clear communication across all levels of the organization to effectively understand and address business and operational needs.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate:

Relevant Bachelor’s degree (or higher), strong own initiative and “hands-on”, entrepreneurial mindset.
Relevant experience in a financial leadership role within the software or technology sector and strong generalist knowledge in all areas of the CFO department, ideally with building up a department from scratch.
Proven track record of successfully managing financial operations in a high-growth environment.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills and ability to serve as a thought partner for the Chief Executive Officer and the broader executive team.
Experience working with venture capital or private equity-backed companies is a plus.
